Overview and Features
This section includes:
Overview
The tape drive is designed for file backup and archive applications. It contains one
independent DAT 160 tape drive.
The tape drive unit is in a tabletop configuration and has built-in power-on-self-test
(POST) diagnostics.
The tape drive uses DAT 160 tape drives and is designed to use a 150-meter DAT 160
tape cartridge. The tape drive is also backward compatible with DDS-4 and DAT 72
tape formats. It is not backward compatible with DDS-2 or DDS-3 tape formats. The
unit is considered a field replaceable unit (FRU) and can only be installed or replaced
by qualified personnel trained by HP.
NonStop NS-Series Servers
The tape drive is configured for the HP NonStop NS-series server.
Features
The DAT 160 tape drive has a native capacity of up to 80GB of data per DAT 160
media cartridge and up to 160GB of data in the compressed mode (assuming a 2:1
compression factor). The tape drive has both read and write heads and can perform
read-after-write (RAW) data checking.
