Advanced ECC population guidelines
For Advanced ECC mode configurations, observe the following guidelines:

Single-processor Advanced ECC population order
For Advanced ECC mode configurations with a single processor, populate the DIMM slots in the following
order:
•
RDIMM: Sequentially in alphabetical order (A through F)
•
UDIMM: Sequentially in alphabetical order (A through F).
Multi-processor Advanced ECC population order
For Advanced ECC mode configurations with multiple processors, populate the DIMM slots for each
processor in the following order:
•
RDIMM: Sequentially in alphabetical order (A through F)
•
UDIMM: Sequentially in alphabetical order (A through F).
Expansion board options
For server-specific expansion board installation instructions, refer to the installation sheet that ships with the
server.
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the server or expansion boards, power down the server and
remove all AC power cords before removing or installing the expansion boards.
