4. Application conditions
The max. permissible ambient temperatures in dependence of temperature class are mentioned in the
following charts.

There is no danger of ignition with OPTISWITCH 3100 C VF31/ 3300 C VF33 used in hazardous
atmospheres of zone 0, if it is used under non-atmospheric pressures, vacuum up to 16 bar, and
temperatures acc. to the temperature classifications T6…T1.

Permissible operating pressure on the sensor:
4.1.1 For use as category 1/2 G instrument:
When using as category 1/2G instrument the OPTISWITCH 3100 C VF31/ 3300 C VF33 is
permissible for pressures on the sensor up to vacuum 16 bar for the temperature classification
T6…T1.
There is no danger of ignition with the sensor used in hazardous atmospheres of zone 0, if it is used
under non-atmospheric pressures and temperatures.
