Flame proofing protection intrinsic safety Ex „i“
OPTISOUND 3010/3020 C VF3*4.C***H***X are provided with intrinsically safe circuits. The
connection of these intrinsically safe circuits is carried out on terminals which are located in an Ex “i”
connection compartment.

For the double chamber housing version the
adjustment and indication module may be
equipped either in the electronics compartment or
in the connection compartment.
The intrinsically safe circuits are galvanically separated from parts which can be grounded.
For applications requiring category 2 equipment, the intrinsically safe supply and signal circuit may
correspond to category ia or ib; when connecting to a circuit of category ib, the flame proofing
identification is EEx ib IIC T6.
For applications requiring instruments of category 1G or 1/2 G, the intrinsically safe supply and signal
circuit must correspond to category ia.
For applications requiring category 1 G or 1/2 G equipment the OPTISOUND 3010/3020 C
VF3*4.C***H***X should be connected preferably to accessory equipment with galvanically separated
intrinsically safe circuit.
