The 9 recommendations below have been assembled with the cooperation of various equipment manufactur-
ers and our product labels. Use this as a checklist to maximize granular performance with air seeders.
1. Overnight Storage: Do not leave unused granules in the tanks overnight. Granules stored in tanks will
take on the humidity of the air and can lead to corrosion and decreased granular efficacy while seeding.
2. Maintenance: Prior to seeding, check tank lid seals for air leaks on every compartment and plastic rollers
for signs of wear. Replace any worn rollers or tank seals.
3. Inoculant Requires a Dedicated Tank: Do Not mix granular inoculant in combination with seed, gran-
ular pesticides or fertilizer in a single tank. To ensure correct application rates are applied, granular inoculants
must be placed in a dedicated tank.
4. Filling Air Seeder Tank: Be sure to check inoculant product label for recommended handling.
5. Amount of Inoculant in Tank: Do Not fill tank to more than half capacity. The best approach is to match
seed acres to inoculant acres to ensure that the operator must check inoculant before each seeding session.
