GMAW SHIELDING GAS HOOKUP
Gas under pressure is explosive.
Always keep gas cylinders in an
upright position and chained to the
undercarriage or a stationary
support. See American National
Standard Z-49.1,
“ Safety In Welding
And Cutting ” , published by the
American Welding Society.

Customer must provide a cylinder of shielding gas, a
pressure regulator, a flow control valve, and a hose
from the flow valve to the gas inlet fitting of the LN-742.
Install per Figure A.5 and the following:
1. Connect the supply hose from the gas cylinder
flow valve outlet to the 5/8-18 female inert gas
fitting on the back panel of the LN-742.
The LN-742 can be used with any shielding gas
recommended in the electrode
’ s product literature at a
maximum pressure of 60 psi (4.1 bar). This may
include gasses such as Argon, Helium and Nitrogen
and blended gases such as Ar-He, Ar-N2, Ar-O2, Ar-
CO2, CO2, AR-CO2,-O2.
