OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
EXCHANGE
1. Verify switches labeled New and Used on PSX-3 control panel are in the OFF position.
2. Connect Red battery clamp to positive terminal on battery.
3. Connect Black battery clamp to suitable ground on vehicle chassis.
4. Verify there is sufficient fluid in New Fluid Tank and sufficient space in Used Fluid Tank for exchange procedure.
5. Remove Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Cap and submerge Service Hoses into reservoir.
6. Remove used fluid from reservoir by pressing switch labeled Used on PSX-3 control panel until air bubbles are
witnessed in used fluid line. Turn used fluid pump off.
7. Refill reservoir by pressing switch labeled New on PSX-3 control panel until fluid level is at the proper operating level.
Turn off new fluid pump.
8. Start vehicle and turn steering wheel full clockwise, then full counter-clockwise (lock to lock).
9. Turn on Used switch. When air bubbles are witnessed in used fluid line, turn New switch on.
10. Turn steering wheel full clockwise, then full counter-clockwise (lock to lock) another 4 to 6 times or until used and new
fluids are similar in color.
11. Turn both Used and New switches off at the same time.
12. Turn vehicle off and pull both the used and new fluid lines slightly out of the reservoir.
13. Turn on Used switch to clear used fluid from hose and turn off when hose cleared.
14. Fill Power Steering Fluid Reservoir to proper level and install cap.
15. Remove battery clamps from vehicle.
Caution: Do not allow Used Tank to overfill

fluid and approved power steering flush chemicals.
Using the PSX-3 for brake fluid and other liquids may
damage the pump seals and void the warranty.
