MINIMUM substrate thickness requirements:
Wood: 3/4” CDX or better. Metal: 20g or better.
All fasteners MUST be fully embedded in substrate. Applicable roof pitches: flat to 12/12.
- For installation onto wood and into truss or other compatible support beam: Use (12) #12 2”
screws (6 per side) in center column of Fastener Installation Holes, OR (12) 16d 3--1/2” nails
(6 per side) in center column of Fastener Installation Holes.
- For installation onto wood and into field (not positioned over truss or support beam): Use (32)
#12 2” screws (16 per side).
Temper Anchor MUST install flush against substrate. NEVER install onto bare rafter or truss.
All installation must be done under the supervision of a Competent Person.
1. Determine desired location for anchor; ensure location is free of debris, rot, decay, cracking,
and hazardous materials. NEVER install on gable ends, fascias, rake ends, overhangs, bottom
cords, collar boards, spliced sections, or substrate incapable of withstanding application
minimum loads.
2. Make considerations for eliminating or minimizing swing fall hazards.
3. Ensure all fasteners are those supplied by Guardian Fall Protection, or are deemed compatible
by a Competent Person.
4. Place Temper Anchor over roof ridge, and adjust to fit pitch. Depending on installation type,
adhere to the following requirements:
