To extend the life of the tester and ensure accurate results be sure to:
• Keep the switch in the OFF position
(all the way toward “PH”) when not in use.
• Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
• Do not immerse the probe in any liquid other than pool or spa water.
• Check the battery regularly. Unit uses 1 “AA” battery (not included).
CLEANING PROBES:
• Use #600 extra fine sandpaper provided with the tester. Gently rub the probes to remove any residue.
• Wash the probes with mild soap and water. Dry with a clean tissue.
• Wait 3 to 5 seconds to reduce static electricity.
CHLORINE CALIBRATION – ADJUSTMENT:
• Before using the tester for the first time, you must adjust (calibrate) it to match your swimming pool or spa water.
• Test your pool or spa water using a conventional liquid test kit or paper test strip.
• Record the chlorine reading level (example 1.5ppm)
• No adjustment is required for PH.
INSERTING BATTERY:
Insert 1 “AA” battery into the battery compartment in handle. Keep the positive side up.
OPERATION:
• Hold the tester in one hand and the probe in the other.
• Insert the cleaned metal probes into the water up to the black band.
• Stir the water slightly with the probe.
• With the probe still in the water, turn the wheel on the face of the tester all the way to the left towards “CL”.
Slowly turn the wheel back to the right until the needle matches the chlorine level you have recorded with the
conventional liquid or paper tester (example 1.5ppm).
• Remove the probe from the water without touching the wheel on the face of the tester. The indicator will move
all the way to the right and stop on a letter between A and E. This is your adjustment point.
Note: Any time you use the tester to test the Chlorine level, you must adjust the indicator
to the “Adjustment Point” before testing.
TESTING CHLORINE LEVEL:
A) Position the indicator the your “adjustment point”.
B) Holding the tester in one hand and the probe in the other, insert the probe into the water up to the black band.
Wait until the needle rests for the best chlorine reading.
C) Leave the probe in the water and proceed with instructions for testing PH.
TESTING pH LEVEL:
A) With the probes still in the water, turn the wheel all the way to “PH” until it clicks.
The battery must be off for PH readings.
B) Wait until the indicator rests on the PH reading.
C) Gently dry probe and insert into the holder on the side of the tester for storage.
