The tape heads will eventually wear out causing the time between cleanings to get shorter and shorter. The
DLT2000XT, DLT4000, and DLT7000 drives have a head life rating of 30,000 hours.
Cleaning the Enclosure
The outside of the enclosure can be cleaned with a damp towel. If you use a liquid all-purpose cleaner, apply it to
the towel. Do not directly spray the enclosure.
