Introduction
The Ferret 87 is a self-powered digital timing light that measures RPM and is equipped with NiMH
rechargeable batteries.

Maintenance & Service
When cleaning the timing light, use a cloth dampened with waterless hand cleaner. DO NOT use
solvents such as acetone and benzene which can be absorbed by and damage plastics. Promptly
remove penetrating oils, gas o line, and battery acid. The Inductive Spark Pickup is a plug-in replaceable
lead. It can be repaired or replaced if damaged. Leave the Pickup latch Open when not in use. The
magnetic cores are made of ferrite ceramic and, when kept apart, they are less likely to break if the
pickup is dropped.

110V Charger
Charging the Batteries
Simply plug the AC charger into a 110 volt AC source, then plug the AC charger into the Timing Light.
The AC charger replaces the spark pickup. A red LED, located near the nose of the timing light will fl ash
one time per second while the batteries are being charged. If the LED fl ashed rapidly there is a charging
fault and you may need to contact technical support for assistance. If the LED is always on, the light is
fully charged. You may leave the charger plugged into the timing light for an extended period of time.
Battery Pack Warranty
The battery pack is warranted for 90 days from the date of purchase. Should the battery fail to charge,
or hold a charge and the unit has been in service for less than 90 days, simply return the light to GxT
for repair or replacement.
