the alarm indicator for ERROR will be lit. When an error is
detected, the pump controller will prevent the pumps from
running. The detected error can be set to activate one of
the output relays, see futher in section "Selection of output
signals".

If the measurement exceeds the measuring range, the
amplifier will indicate that the measuring range has been
exceeded by showing three lit-up points in the display e.g.:
„0.5.6.“

A three-pole switch for coding of the output signals and
three potentiometers for time delay adjustment are located

Operation
The Pump Controller is operated by means of a display
selector which can be set to a number of positions for the
reading of level values during operation, as well as for
resetting. The Controller is designed for continuous
operation - also during calibration - so the selector cannot
be „forgotten“ in a calibrating position thereby disturbing or
spoiling the control action.
Start and stop levels

Start and stop levels
Set the start, stop and alarm levels by turning the selector
switch to the desired position, and adjust the relevant
potentiometer.
Note: To obtain the best accuracy when adjusting, the
potentiometer settings are relative to the chosen 0-level (for
ultrasonic measurig systems) or range (for hydrostatic
measuring systems)
If the 0-level/range is set for e.g. 3 m, the range for start/
stop and alarms will be limited to 0 - 2.25 m (ultrasonic) or
0 - 3 m (hydrostatic).
The amplifier has logic for both filling and emptying. When
the starting levels are set lower than the stopping levels, the
pumping action will be filling. When the starting levels are
set higher than the stopping levels, it will be emptying. This
logic prevents dry pumping in the event of failure.

The alternation selector is set to „NORMAL“ or „ALTERNA-
TING“ as desired.
In the „NORMAL“ position the „level 1“ settings will control
pump no. 1 and the „level 2“ settings will control pump no.
2.
In the „ALTERNATING“ position „level 1“ will control pump
no. 1 and pump no. 2 alternately, and „level 2“ will act in
reverse.

The setpoints for high and low alarm are adjusted as
follows: Turn the display selector to „level 3 high“ or „level
4 low“ as required, and turn the relevant potentiometer until
the desired level is displayed.
For low alarm, the alarm starts at the setpoint and
disconnects approx. 1% above the setpoint. Similarly, the
high alarm begins at the setpoint, and ceases approx. 1%
belove it.
The two alarm relays are active for normal levels, and idle
during alarm. The relays may instead be connected to the
echo failure circuit by means of the changeover switches
mentioned in section "Setting of output signals".

Adjustment of current output
Set the changeover switch located on the underside of the
top circuit to 0-20 or 4-20 mA (standard setting at delivery
4-20 mA). Set the selector switch to „mA OUTPUT“. Then,
by means of the mA OUTPUT SPAN potentiometer, set the
output current in per cent of 0-20/4-20 mA corresponding
to the value measured at the time.

In order to prevent simultaneous activation of two large
motors, Relay 2 may be set to delayed triggering. Delays
between 0 and 20 secs may be set.
TIME DELAY RELAY 3:
The Relay 3 alarm, whether usedas high alarm or echo
failure alarm may be delayed 0.1 - 5 mins.

Mounting
The amplifier can be mounted directly on a wall. For panel
mounting a mounting kit can be ordered. For outdor
mounting a local mounting kit with rain roof can be
ordered.
