Installing the CPU fan and heatsink assembly
Installing an Intel ® Pentium ® 4 CPU heatsink and fan
1. �lace the heatsin�� on top of the installed
C�U, ma��ing sure that the four fasteners
match the holes on the motherboard.
2. �ush down two fasteners at a time in a
diagonal sequence to secure the heatsin��
and fan assembly in place.
3. When the fan and heatsin�� assembly is in
place, connect the C�U fan cable to the
connector on the motherboard.
Installing an AMD CPU
1. Locate the C�U soc��et, then lift the soc��et lever to a 90º angle.
2. Install the C�U to the soc��et, ma��ing sure that the C�U corner with the gold
triangle matches the soc��et corner with a small triangle.
3. �ush down the soc��et lever to secure the C�U.
CAUTION: Incorrect installation of the C�U into the soc��et may bend the pins and
severely damage the C�U!
