IMPORTANT:
If using PCI cards on shared slots, make sure that the drivers sup-
port “Share IRQ” or that the cards do not need IRQ assignments. Conflicts will arise
between the two PCI groups that will make the system unstable or cards inoperable.
3.7.3 Communication and Networking Riser (CNR) Slots
These connectors support specially designed network, audio, or modem riser cards.
Main processing is done through software and controlled by the motherboard’s sys-
tem chipset. This provides upgradeable network, audio, and/or modem solutions at
an incredibly low cost.
NOTE: CNRs are not included with this motherboard.

CNR Restrictions:
1. Only one audio CNR can be used, and it must be primary and inserted into
CNR slot 1.
2. If both an audio CNR and modem CNR are used, the modem CNR must be
secondary.
3. The modem CNR must be primary if no audio CNR is used.
4. Only one LAN CNR can be supported.
5. When a USB hub CNR card is used, USB ports 5 and 6 will not function.
