EN-1 CKW Battery Option Kit
INTRODUCTION
The Battery Option Kit is available for the CKW-55 Indicator and CKW Series Scales
manufactured by the Ohaus Corporation. The Battery Option Kit consists of a
NiMH rechargeable battery pack, printed circuit board, interconnecting cable, two
mounting brackets and attaching hardware.
IMPORTANT::::: Read all safety precautions before installing, making connections,
servicing, replacing the battery or PC board. Failure to comply with these
precautions could result in personal injury, damage to the battery system,
damage to the Indicator or Scale, or other property damage. Retain all
instructions for future reference.
BASIC APPLICATIONS
The Battery kit when installed and charged, allows operation without external AC
power. In the event of an AC power failure, the battery can provide continued
operation without interruption.

INSTALLATION
Opening the Indicator Housing
• Unfasten the 4 side screws of the Indicator housing, pull the
front housing section forward.
WARNING: ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD EXISTS WITHIN THE
HOUSING. THE HOUSING SHOULD ONLY BE OPENED BY AUTHORIZED
AND QUALIFIED PERSONNEL. REMOVE ALL POWER CONNECTIONS
TO THE UNIT BEFORE OPENING. IF THE UNIT CONTAINS AN OPTIONAL
RELAY CONTROL BOARD, ADDITIONAL AC OR DC POWER
CONNECTIONS MAY EXIST WITHIN THE HOUSING.
