Cleaning

Risk of electric shock
Disconnect the mains plug before cleaning.
Do not use abrasive products.
Never immerse the appliance in water.
Do not use a steam cleaner.
Cleaning the appliance
S
Wipe down the outside of the appliance
with a damp cloth.
S
Remove reservoir (7), rinse it out and fill it
with fresh water.
S
Remove drip tray (9) and grille (10) and
empty it. Only drip tray (9) is suitable for
dishwasher use.
S
Wipe out the inside of drip tray (9).
S
Clean the filter carrier and filter. Do not
wash in a dishwasher.
S
Undo brew filter (12) using a coin, rinse it
out thoroughly and replace (figure I).
Cleaning the steam nozzle
S
Undo steam wand (8) using a coin
(figure m), remove sleeve (8 a) and clean.
Use a needle to clean out the holes in
sleeve (8 a) with particular care.
Tip: After each use, dispense a small amount
of steam from steam wand (8) and use a damp
cloth to wipe down the outside when it has
cooled.
Descaling
Use a standard domestic descaler to descale
the appliance as often as is required by the
local water hardness.

Switch off the appliance and unplug it from
the mains.
S
Important: The appliance must have
cooled down completely (1 hour
minimum).
S
Remove filter holder (11).
S
Undo brew head filter (12) using a coin
(figure l), remove limescale and coffee
residues and replace.
S
Refit filter holder (11) containing a filter.
S
Mix the descaler in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions and add to
empty reservoir (7).
S
Connect the mains plug and switch the
appliance back on.
S
Immediately hold a cup under steam
wand (8).
S
Turn function selector (4) to
and switch
off the appliance after approximately
30 seconds with power switch (3).
S
Allow the liquid descaler to work for five
minutes.
S
Place a large vessel under filter holder (11).
S
Turn function selector (4) to
.
Switch the appliance back on with power
switch (3), allow the liquid descaler to pass
through for approximately 30 seconds and
then switch the appliance off again.
S
Allow the liquid descaler to work for ten
minutes.
S
Switch the appliance back on by power
switch (3), allow the remaining liquid
descaler to pass through and then turn
function selector (4) back to .

Fill reservoir (7) with fresh water up to the
max. mark.
S
Turn function selector (4) to
, allow all of
the water to pass through and then turn it
