GENERAL

1. Mount the inner shaft to the spindle of the motor. FIGURE 2
2. Mount the outer shaft to the motor by turning it counter-

clockwise. FIGURE 3

3. Mount the hand piece on the other end of the shaft.

4. Mount the metal hook to the wall just above where you work.
5. Connect the motor to the foot pedal. Connect the foot pedal to

the outlet. FIGURE 5
Do not connect the motor to the outlet directly.

6. Hang the motor on the hook.

CHANGING ACCESSORIES

1. Check if switch is in “0” position.
2. Use key to unlock and lock accessories in the chuck. FIGURE 6

GETTING STARTED

USE

1. On/off switch

Switch on/off the tool by pushing knob D (FIGURE 1) in
“I”/”0” position.

2. Foot speed control

Control the speed stepless with your foot by applying less or
more pressure on the pedal. FIGURE 7

HOLDING AND GUIDING THE TOOL

• Pencil grip for precision work (engraving). FIGURE 8
• Hand grip for rough work (grinding). FIGURE 9

Do not bend shaft at tight angles. FIGURE 10

APPLICATION ADVICE

• Tool is intended to be used for woodworking, jewellery

making, stone working and artisan projects.

• When used with the appropriate accessories this tool can be

applied for grinding, sanding, cutting, engraving, polishing,
drilling.

• Recommended speed

low – medium

precise drilling, polishing

medium – high

sanding, cutting, engraving

• Always practice on a piece of scrap material first to choose

the right accessory and determine the optimum working
speed.

• Do not apply too much pressure on the tool; let the speed

do the work for you.

MAINTENANCE

• Flexible shaft needs to be lubricated regularly:

– switch off tool and remove plug from power source.

– remove hand piece.

– remove outer shaft by turning it clockwise. FIGURE 3

– lubricate inner shaft with lubrication grease.

Do not use

too much grease.

– mount outer shaft by turning it counter-clockwise.

– mount hand piece.

• Excessive sparking mostly indicates worn-out carbon brushes.

CLEANING THE TOOL

DISCONNECT THE PLUG BEFORE CLEANING

• Keep tool and cord clean (some household cleaning products

and solvents can damage plastic parts; these products include
among others benzene, trichloroethylene, chloride, ammonium).

Ventilation openings and switch levers must be kept clean and
free of foreign matter. Do not attempt to clean by inserting
pointed objects through openings.
The tool may be cleaned with compressed air. Always wear safety
goggles when cleaning tool with compressed air.

SERVICE AND WARRANTY

This DREMEL product is guaranteed in accordance with
statutory/country-specific regulations; damage due to normal
wear and tear, overload or improper handling will be excluded
from the guarantee.

In case of a complaint, send the tool undismantled together with
proof of purchase to your dealer.
