Running OPC (Optimum Power Control)
Running OPC automatically adjusts the output of the laser according to the
characteristics of the disc being used. Running OPC provides greatly
enhanced recording reliability for various manufacturers’ discs.
High-fidelity digital audio
The CRW-70 drive supports extraction of digital audio data at up to 24X
speed, as well as the recording of digital sound with complete fidelity even
when writing at 12X speed.
CD TEXT support
Information such as song names or artist names can be recorded on CD-R/
RW discs using CD writing software. The text data on the created disc can
be displayed on a CD player that is compatible with the CD TEXT format.
Audio CD and MP3 disc playback support
You can play audio CDs or MP3 discs (
→P. 25) on the CRW-70 drive
without connecting it to a computer, by using optional headphones or other
audio device.

12X-speed writing onto CD-R discs is enabled with the Partial CAV method.

The optimal writing speed automatically selected will be between 8X speed and
the maximum speed designated for that disc. If the disc is rated at lower than 8X-
speed writing, you need to designate the most suitable writing speed manually.
