Using the Answering System
Turning Your Answering System On and Off
From the base From the handset
Turning On
When the phone is in standby, press 1)
[answer on/off].
The system announces “Answering System
2)
is on” and plays the current greeting.
The message counter LED displays the
3)
number of messages stored in memory.
If the counter fl ashes, then you have new
messages waiting.
Press 1) [Menu/Select]. Select the ANSW.
SETUP menu, and then the ANSWER
SETUP submenu.
Move the cursor to select ON.

Press 3) [Menu/Select]. You will hear a
confi rmation tone.
Turning Off
When the phone is in standby, press 1)
[answer on/off].
The phone announces “Answering System
2)
is off.”
The message counter LED is no longer
3)
illuminated.
Press 1) [Menu/Select]. Select the ANSW.
SETUP menu, and then the ANSWER
SETUP submenu.
Move the cursor to select OFF.

Press 3) [Menu/Select]. You will hear a
confi rmation tone.
