FRS band menu options
Follow the steps below to open the FRS band menu:
If the top of the display does not show FRS 2-Way
Radio, press the
BAND-1/2.5/5W
button repreatedly
until the display shows FRS.
Wait for the display to show the FRS band screen,
then press the
MENU
button.
Refer to the table below for the available options and
settings available in the FRS band.

Setting CTCSS privacy codes
Normally, any FRS radio that is within range and using the
same channel can hear FRS conversations. To prevent other
radios from hearing you or reduce interference with other
radios, you can enable one of the 142 privacy codes for any
channel. Only radios that have the matching privacy code
will be able to decipher your transmission (see page 46 for a
detailed explanation of CTCSS and DSC privacy codes).
