Marine band status messages
Message Displays When
(Channel Name)
No other status message is needed (see the
tables staring on page 42 for a list of channel
names)
TRANSMITTING You press the PUSH TO TALK button.
RELEASE PTT KEY
You press the PUSH TO TALK button but you
cannot transmit at the moment (for example,
because you are on a receive-only channel).
CHANNEL SCAN You turn on scanning mode.
TRIWATCH You turn on triple watch mode.
TRIWATCH SCAN You turn on triple watch mode while scanning.
DUALWATCH You turn on dual watch mode.
DUALWATCH SCAN You turn on dual watch mode while scanning..
BATTERY LOW
The battery power level is too low for normal
operation (appears with the battery power level
icon ).
Marine VHF band menu options
Follow the steps below to open the marine VHF band menu:
If the top of the display does not show Marine Band,
press the BAND-1/2.5/5W button repreatedly until the
display shows VHF.
Wait for the display to show the marine band screen,
then press the MENU button.
Refer to the table below for the available options and
settings available in the marine band.
