Troubleshooting
Installation does not
finish successfully when
you connect the
V-STUDIO 20 hardware.
It may take between several tens of
seconds and several minutes after
you power-on the V-STUDIO 20
until it is recognized by your
computer.
This is not a malfunction.
Please wait until the Found New Hardware Wizard appears.
Is the V-STUDIO 20 connected?
Once again, make sure that the V-STUDIO 20 is correctly connected to your computer.
Could your computer be operating
on its battery?
Operation may not be stable if your computer is operating on its battery. Please
connect your computer to a power supply.
Could other USB devices be
connected?
Perform the installation with all USB devices (other than a mouse and keyboard)
disconnected from your computer.
Does your computer meet the USB
specifications?
Operation may be unstable if your computer does not meet the electrical requirements
of the USB specification.
In this case, you may be able to solve the problem by connecting a self-powered USB
hub (a USB hub that has an internal power supply or AC adaptor).
“Found New Hardware
Wizard” appears even
though you installed the
driver (Windows XP)
Could you have connected the
V-STUDIO 20 to a different USB
connector of your computer than
when you installed the driver?
If your computer or USB hub has two or more USB connectors, connecting the
V-STUDIO 20 to a different USB connector may cause the “Found New Hardware
Wizard” to appear even though the driver has already been installed.
This is not a malfunction.
Install the driver as described in “Installing the VS-20 Driver” (p. 11).
A numeral such as “2-”
has appeared in front of
the device name
(Windows Vista)
Could you have connected the
V-STUDIO 20 to a different USB
port?
If you connect the V-STUDIO 20 to a different USB port, the operating system may
automatically add a number at the beginning of the device name; this is not a problem
for using the V-STUDIO 20. If you want to return to the device name without this
number, you can either connect the V-STUDIO 20 to the same USB port as when you
installed the driver, or reinstall the driver. -> “Installing the VS-20 Driver” (p. 11)
