3. Separate the drum front from the drum back by twist-

4. Lift the inner drum, with cable, out of its cradled fit.

5. Fit the new inner drum into the drum back and draw

about a foot of cable out of the inner drum (Figure 20).

6. Pass the exposed cable head through the drum front

assembly, align the drum front with the drum back,
and rotate drum front to lock into position. Tighten the
screws.

Torque Arm

The K-40/K-40B is supplied with a torque arm inside
the inner drum (Figure 21) and attached to the back
end of the cable (Figure 22).

The torque arm retains the cable inside the inner drum of
the K-40/K-40B and greatly enhances the performance of
the machine. It is adjustable to different sizes of cable
ranging from

Cable End Indicator

The C-13-IC SB Cable has a “speedbump” at the back
end of the cable (Figure 23). This bump in the cable will
warn you to stop feeding cable out of the drum. The
“speedbump” is most effective on K-40 units with the
autofeed accessory. The bump will not pass through the
autofeed during operation of the machine. To pass the
bump through the autofeed, lift the actuator handle.
Continuing to feed the cable past the speedbump may re-
sult in the cable coming out of the inner drum requiring
you to reload the cable.
