Scan
Scanning plays the first 10 seconds of each Chapter/Track on the Disc.
1 Press SCAN during playback. Starting at the beginning of the
current Chapter/Track, the first 10 seconds of each
Chapter/Track will play. SCAN will appear briefly on the Player’s
display panel.
2 To continue playback from a Chapter/Track, press SCAN
again or press PLAY :. SCAN OFF will appear briefly on the
Player’s display panel.
Otherwise, scanning stops at the end of the Disc.

Shuffle
You can play Tracks and Chapters on the current Disc or all Discs
(except DVDs) in random order using the Shuffle feature.
1 Press SHUFFLE once. SHUFFLE will appear briefly on the
Player’s display panel. The Tracks or Chapters of the current, sin-
gle Disc will begin playing in random order.
2 Press SHUFFLE again. SHF ALL DISC will appear briefly on
the display panel. The Tracks or Chapters on all Discs (except
DVDs) in the Player will play in random order. DVDs will not be
included in the shuffled playback.
3 To return to normal order playback, press SHUFFLE
again. Regular playback will resume from the current
Track/Chapter of the current Disc. SHUFFLE OFF will appear
briefly on the Player’s display panel.
• Set FTS to Off to ensure Scan
and Shuffle operate as
described. Details are on pages
34-35.
• Choosing another Chapter/Track
will cancel Scan.
