Sending a fax using the directory
Before using this feature, program the
desired names and telephone numbers into
the directory (page 27).

Open the document feeder tray.

Adjust the width of the document
guides to the size of the document.

Insert the document (up to 10 pages)
FACE DOWN until the unit grasps the
document and a single beep is heard.

If necessary, press {+} or {-}
repeatedly to select the desired
resolution (page 37).

Press {>}.
DIRECTORY [

Press {+} or {-} until the desired
name is displayed.
Example: Sam [

L To confirm the telephone number,
press {HELP}.
L For further details about using the
directory, see page 31.

Press {FAX/START}.
Fax auto redial
If the line is busy or if there is no answer, the
unit will automatically redial the number up
to 5 times.
L This feature is also available for receiving
polling (page 52) and delayed
transmission (feature #25 on page 72).
L During redial, the following will be
displayed.
WAITING REDIAL
L To cancel redialling, press {STOP}.
If your unit does not send a fax
L Confirm the stored telephone number on
the display and check that the number
dialled is answered by the other party’s
machine (page 31).
L The connecting tone will be heard during
dialling to tell you the status of the other
party’s machine (feature #76 on page
75).
