Picture is not clear. The lens is dirty. Clean the lens ( page 63 ).
Subject too close when
taking picture. Move so there is at least 2.5
feet (0.8 m) between the
camera and the subject.
Macro mode is active
and subject is too far
away. Change setting ( page 22 ) or
move closer to subject.
Subject or the camera
moved while the picture
was taken. Hold the camera steady or
use a tripod while taking the
picture.
Not enough light Turn on the flash or use a
tripod.
The subject is too far
away for the flash to be
effective. Move so there is no more
than 7.9 feet (2.4 m)
between the camera and the
subject.
Slide show does
not run on external
video device. Video Out setting is
incorrect. Adjust the camera Video Out
setting (NTSC or PAL,
page 23 ).
External device is set
incorrectly. Refer to the external device’s
user’s guide.
