To start flat sanding operations with the belt
horizontal, do these steps:
1. UNPLUG THE SANDER!
2. Remove the belt sanding table.
3. Loosen the cap screw shown in FIgure 20
to allow the sanding belt to rotate.
4. Rotate the belt to the horizontal position
then tighten the cap screw loosened in
step 3.
5. Install the work-stop fence (shown in
Figure 21) to prevent the workpiece from
running off the end of the sander.
6. Start the sander.
7. Hold the workpiece firmly and in contact
with the work-stop fence as shown in
Figure 22.
