DRIvE CONTROL ADJUSTMENTS

6.1

Adjust the steering control rods so that there is

approximately 3/4" clearance from the bottom of the
rod to the bottom of the neutral latch slot when in the
drive position. See Figure 6-1.

the handles. When the steering levers are locked in

ADJUSTMENTS

These adjustments must be performed by your Scag dealer
to ensure proper and efficient running of the engine. Should
either need adjustment, contact your authorized Scag
service center.

CUTTER DECK BELT ADJUSTMENTS

WARNING

Before removing any guards, shut the engine off
and remove the ignition key. Wait for all moving
parts to come to a complete stop before beginning
work.

Remove the belt cover.

Adjust the cutter deck drive belt using a belt tension

gauge. Adjust the belt so that the belt moves 1/2"
with 10 pounds of pressure. Adjust the tension by
tightening or loosening the J-bolt. See Figure 6-2.

Due to initial belt stretch and to prevent the belt
from slipping, check this adjustment after the first
2 hours, 4 hours and 8 hours of operation.

Adjust the RH blade drive belt using a belt tension
