On-screen
keyboard
When you need to edit text,
tap the keyboard icon in the
status bar and then select
characters. Tap
Done
when
ready.
Tap
> Setup
to change
language for the keyboard.
At the bottom left of the
keyboard you can choose
between three keyboard
layouts with different
character sets.
abc
- standard characters
àëó
- international characters
123
- numeric characters and currencies
The current input field is shown to the left in the top bar of the
keyboard. Tap the arrows or rotate the Jog Dial to change the
input field. The keyboard top bar also contains a drop-down
menu with
Cut
,
Copy
and
Paste.
When copying or cutting, the text
must be selected first.
Handwriting recognition
Handwriting recognition
translates stylus gestures
into letters, numbers or
other characters, and
displays these characters
as text. Handwriting
recognition is only active
in places where text can
be input.
The text mode screen is
split into an upper and a
lower part, by an arrow
in the middle of the right
edge. Write lowercase
letters below the arrow
and uppercase letters in
line with it. Write
numbers above the arrow.
Mark text by putting the stylus on the text, wait a moment, and
drag the stylus over the text.
Note Most letters can be written using different stroke styles.
See the tables below. The style does not determine case. The
position on the screen decides case.
