SATA II hard disk drives are available for the x3100
M3 with capacities up to
1TB (3.5-inch) apiece at 7,200 RPMs.
The optional
x8 PCIe Gen 2 IBM 3Gbps SAS HBA v2 controller offers RAID-0/1/1E support for
internal SATA HDDs and SAS/SATA tape drives. It also supports external IBM
System Storage

and tape drives.
