Tap
Programs to access the Programs group, where the applications and utilities (other
than those on the Start Menu) are located. See the list below.
Tap
Settings to view and change your device settings.
Tap
Help to access the on-line Help messages. For some programs, context-sensitive Help
is available. For example, if you are using Album, selecting
Help from the Start menu will
display a Help topic explaining how to use the current screen in Album.
Programs
Some programs are available directly on the Start menu, and you can invoke some of them
by pressing a button on your Pocket PC Phone (see Chapter 5). The majority of programs
can be found in the Programs group (
Start Menu > Programs).
Icon
Description
ActiveSync
synchronizes information between your Pocket PC Phone and PC.
xBackup
backs up your Pocket PC Phone files to the ROM or an SD card (or re-
stores).
Contacts
keeps track of your friends’ and colleagues’ contact information.
Messaging
sends and receives Email, SMS, and MMS messages.
Pocket Internet Explorer
browses Web sites and downloads new programs and files.
SIM Tool Kit (STK)
allows you to access information and other services offered by
your operator.
Phone
makes and receives calls, switches between calls, and sets up conference
calls.
EmailWiz
allows you to select your e-mail provider from a list of available providers and
simplifies the procedure to set up e-mail accounts.
Wireless Manager
lets you use your Pocket PC Phone as an external modem for a PC
or Notebook by using a serial/USB port, or Infrared.
Wireless Modem
manages access to wireless connections.
WLAN Manager
allows you to manage the
WiFi
connection.
SIM Manager
collects, organizes, and sorts the
Contacts list stored on your SIM
card.
Zip
allows you to save memory and storage capacity by creating and unzipping ZIP
files.
