To

load

the

module,

type:

modprobe

ipr

Press

Enter.

Note:

If

you

are

running

a

RHEL

3

based

distribution,

add

the

modprobe

ipr

line

to

the

/etc/rc.d/rc.local

file

to

ensure

the

driver

is

loaded

at

boot

time.

Installing

the

Utility

Software

If

you

downloaded

the

iprutils

utility

package,

do

the

following:

1.

Turn

on

the

power

to

your

system

unit.

2.

At

the

system

prompt,

log

in

as

root

user.

3.

Install

the

following

packages

(if

not

already

installed):

gcc

ncurses-devel

pciutils-devel

glibc-devel

4.

Rebuild

the

rpm

package

by

typing:

rpmbuild

–-rebuild

–-target

ppc

iprutils-2.0.10-1.src.rpm

Press

Enter.

5.

Install

the

compiled

rpm

package

by

typing:

rpm

-Uvh

iprutils-2.0.10-1.ppc.rpm

6.

Restart

the

iprutils

services

by

typing:

/etc/init.d/iprupdate

restart

/etc/init.d/iprdump

restart

7.

If

running

a

kernel,

restart

the

iprinit

service

by

typing:

/etc/init.d/iprinit

restart

Verifying

Hardware

Installation

To

verify

that

your

system

unit

recognizes

the

PCI-X

Dual

Channel

Ultra320

SCSI

RAID

Adapter,

do

the

following:

1.

If

necessary,

log

in

as

root

user.

2.

Type:

iprconfig

Press

Enter.

3.

Select

the

Display

hardware

status

option

and

press

Enter.

If

the

PCI-X

Dual

Channel

Ultra320

SCSI

RAID

Adapter

installed

correctly,

data

displays

for

the

adapter

and

each

disk

attached

to

it.

The

following

is

an

example

of

the

data

that

displays

on

your
