Maintaining your coffeemaker
Maintaining your coffeemaker and its parts will help extend the life of the appliance.
Cleaning the coffeemaker
Your coffeemaker must be cleaned when you notice any of the follow conditions:
l
cleaning cycle indicator light is blinking during normal brew mode (models URTX83
and URTX87D)
l
excessive steaming
l
increased brew cycle times
l
the pumping action stops before all of the water has been pumped from the
water reservoir
These conditions are caused by lime or other mineral deposits.
How frequently you clean your coffeemaker depends upon the hardness of your tap
water. The following table gives suggested cleaning intervals.
To clean mineral deposits from your coffeemaken
1 ) Pour four cups of dissolved Mr. Cleaner or
undiluted white household vinegar into the water
reservoir.
2.) Place a paper filter into the removable filter insert
and close the brew basket lid.
3.) Place the empty thermal carafe on the base.

4.) Start the cleaning cycle for models:

UNT83 and URT83
a. Press the ON button.
b. As soon as the brew cycle is complete and
the coffeemaker turns off, pour dissolved

reservoir and allow to stand for 30 minutes
while the unit is “off.”
