G0527 18" Wide Belt Sander
There are two V-belts on the Model G0527—one
on the table lifting motor (Figure 23) and one on
the sanding drum motor (Figure 24).
NOTICE
The V-belts have been properly adjusted at
the factory and should require no further
attention. If future adjustment is needed fol-
low the instructions below.

To adjust either V-belt:
1.
Disconnect the sander from the power
source!
2.
Loosen the lock nut (Figure 23 & 24).
3.
Turn the adjustment nut up or down until the
proper V-belt tension is achieved. Note—
The
V-belt should deflect 1" off of center when
pushed with your finger.
4.
Retighten the lock nut.
Air System
If you ever determine that a component in
the air system is malfunctioning, DO NOT
operate the sander. Fix the problem before
resuming operation.
The air system is durable and reliable; however,
components do wear with age. If you suspect that
an item in your air system may be having prob-
lems, see the air line circuit on the next page.
Periodically inspect the following:
•
Carefully inspect all air lines for leaks.
Replace faulty hoses.
•
Check the air connections for leaks. A small
amount of soapy water in a questionable
area will bubble if there is a leak.
•
Make sure the lines are not clogged.
Remove questionable lines and blow through
them as a test.
