General
PROBLEM
CAUSE & REMEDY
1 cannot make and receive
calls.
•The power cord or telephone line cord is not connected. Check the
connections (see page 11).
1 cannot make calls.
•The dialing mode setting is wrong. Check the selector (see page 11).
The unit does not work.
• Disconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect to a known
working phone. If the working phone operates properly, call your service
centre to have the unit repaired. If the working phone does not operate
properly, contact your telephone company.
The unit does not ring.
•The ringer volume is set to OFF. Adjust it to a suitable level (see page
15).
The REDIAL7PAUSE button
does not function properly.
• If this button is pressed during dialing, a pause will be inserted. If this
button is pressed immediately after obtaining a dial tone, the last number
dialed will be redialed.
During programming, 1 cannot
enter the activation code or
the prohibitor ID.
•Whole or part of the number is the same as another code or ID. Change
the number (see pages 42, 43, 50 and 56).
Fax Transmission
PROBLEM
CAUSE & REMEDY
The other party complains
that letters on their received
document are distorted.
• If your line has special telephone services such as call waiting, the
service may have been activated during fax transmission. Connect the
unit to a line that does not have such services.
•An extension telephone on the same line is off the hook. Hang up and try
again.
The other party compiains
that dirty patterns or biack
lines appear on their received
documents.
•The glass or rollers are dirty. Clean them (see page 78).
1 cannot make an
international fax call.
• Use the overseas transmission mode (see page 41).
•Add two pauses at the end of the phone number (see page 38).
