MASTER CONTROL MODULE -- DMS-MCM
The main functions of the Master Control Module are to provide a
communications link with a separate personal computer, provide local
memory storage for patch information and the means for downloading it to
the Input/Output Modules, and to monitor for system activity and status. It
also acts as a buffer for system I/O data between the Input Modules and the
system I/O bus. The Master Module incorporates the following hardware
subsections:
Processor Section (Sheet 1) -- The processor section is comprised of the
microprocessor U22, watchdog timer/reset controller U21 with reset
pushbutton S2, address latch U23, lithium SRAM module U27, EPROM U28,

U29, U30 and U33 comprise a data transmit/receive section which provides
for the movement of commands, patch data and status information between
the Master Module and the Input Modules in the master frame, and the
Frame Control and Output Modules over the system COM bus (FCRxD and
FCTxD). "Phantom DMX" data is sent and received during diagnostic
sessions (DATAOUT and DATAIN). Buffers U8 and differential driver U11
