OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
This section contains information on the usage of the #9005A Series Mobile Universal
Trailer Tester. (MUTT®)
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONS
The Mobile Universal Trailer Tester (MUTT
®
) is a fleet maintenance and a diagnostic
aid for trailer electrical operations wired to North American style 7 round pin
configuration.
The following describes the Testing Panel (Fig. 1).
A. AIR CONTROL SWITCH
Select between Emergency, Remote and Service Side air control.
Left:
REMOTE
Center: EMERGENCY
Right: SERVICE
B. POWER SOURCE SWITCH
Select between Internal Battery, External Power, or Power Off.
Center: OFF (battery charge in this position only)
Up:
Installed Battery ON
Down:
External Power ON (power supply is an optional accessory)
C. 12V DC BATTERY TRICKLE CHARGE INPUT
Use for connection of trickle charger to battery (charger not included).
Allows float charge to be kept on battery when unit is not in use.
D. ANTENNA
Receives RF signal from wireless remote up to 100 feet.
Binding post allows antenna length insertion for further distances in inclement
weather. It is recommended that the antenna be installed for optimum performance.
