The edit menu, The tools menu – i-mate PDA2 User Manual
Page 154

An icon in the lower left or lower right corner of a thumbnail indicates the following:
- indicates that text annotation has been associated with this file (see below).
G - indicates an animated GIF file.
V - indicates a video file.
- this “speaker icon” indicates that audio annotation has been associated with this file
(see below).
The Edit menu
The Edit menu contains the standard
Cut, Copy, Paste, Rename, Delete, Select All com-
mands. It also contains the
Annotate... command, described below.
Adding text or audio notes to a file
The
Annotate... command (on the Edit menu or the pop-up menu) lets you add and remove
text or audio annotation for a file. The text and audio can then be set to display or play
during a slide show.
To add text annotation:
If you wish to associate text with the file, enter it in the text box.
After text annotation has
been added, will be shown on the thumbnail.
To make an audio annotation:
To create an audio recording (either voice or music) as an annotation using your built-in
Pocket PC Phone’s microphone, tap
to begin recording, and tap
to stop recording.
After audio annotation has been added, will be shown in the thumbnail.
NOTE: You cannot record an audio annotation for a video file that has sound, or an audio
file. This function is automatically disabled when you work with a video file with sound.
The Tools menu
Sending a file via E-mail or MMS
Select the desired file, then select
Send via MMS or Send via E-mail... from the Tools menu
(or the menu that pops up when you tap-and-hold on a thumbnail). A new Compose screen
opens, with the selected file already attached and ready to be sent. Follow the relevant
procedures for sending that type of message.
IMPORTANT: If you have selected an account in Messaging, it will override the Send com-
mands in other applications. For example, if you have selected
Start menu > Messaging
> Accounts menu > MMS, then the MMS Composer window will be invoked whether you
select the
Send via MMS command or the Send via E-mail command in Album (or in
Camera mode, after capturing a new image or video file). See the last page of Chapter 8
for information about Messaging overrides.
