Red-eye reduction

If you press

OK

when the

Red-eye

option is highlighted in the

Capture

menu, the

Red-eye Reduction

sub-menu displays. This sub-menu

allows you to turn red-eye reduction

on and off. When set to

On

, the

Red-eye Reduction

setting works in

conjunction with the current flash setting.
The red-eye phenomenon is caused by light from the flash

reflecting off the subjects’ eyes, which sometimes makes a

human’s or animal’s eyes appear red in the captured image.

When you set

Red-eye Reduction

to

On

, the camera flashes

twice, minimizing the red-eye in the captured images of

humans or animals.
