Using an AV Amplifier with built-in digital surround

If you are using an AV Amplifier with built-in digital surround sound, you can enjoy various audio systems including Dolby Digital

Surround audio that sounds just like the movie.

Connect an AV amplifier with built-in Dolby Digital decoder, etc. as shown below.

NOTE:

When you are viewing digital broadcast, this unit will not work in conjunction with DTS audio or MPEG audio. There will be no sound

output if connected to an AV amplifier with a built-in DTS decoder or MPEG decoder.

Digital Audio Output terminal does not output the sounds from devices connected by HDMI.

This connection allows you to use an audio amplifier and external speakers, and adjust the audio level using the TV’s remote control.

To control the audio, turn on the TV and the stereo amplifier, and turn off the TV’s built-in speakers (see page 15).

NOTE:

To hear sound when using an external audio amplifier, the volume of both the TV and the amplifier must be set above 0 (zero).

For example, if the volume of the TV is set to 0, you will not be able to hear any sound, even if the volume of the amplifier is at its

highest level.
