8. Install the left and right top corner faceplate mounting plates to
the top surround using 2 bolts and washers per bracket. See
diagram 7.

9. Install the top surround by lining up the forks in the top surround to
the installed capscrews on the mantel top. See diagram 8. Use a
7/16” socket to tighten capscrews. Leave bolts loose to allow for
adjustment.
NOTE: Do not overtighten capscrews. The top surround only
needs to be level as the left and right side surround will
eventually hold the top surround in place.
Ensure that the top surround is stable before proceeding to
next step.

10. Place 3 bolts and washers each into the back of the left and right side
surround as shown in diagram 9. Leave each bolt out approximately
5/16” for ease of installation.
NOTE: There is an opening for a 4th bolt on both the left and right
side surround but it is not to be used as illustrated in diagram 9.

7. Place the capscrews from step 6 into the holes in the mantel top
approximately half way in (1” into the hole). See diagram 5.
