3 Installing the Printer Software
When you install the printer software, the following components
are installed.
❏ Printer driver
The printer driver gives you complete control over your
printer settings when using Microsoft
®
Windows
®
Me, 98, 95,
XP, 2000, and Windows NT
®
4.0 (except Terminal Server
Edition). With it, you can make settings such as print quality
and paper size.
❏ EPSON Status Monitor 3
EPSON Status Monitor 3 allows you to view printer status
information, such as the amount of toner remaining, and
check for any printer errors. EPSON Status Monitor 3 requires
Windows Me, 98, 95, XP, 2000, or NT 4.0.

How to Install the Printer Software
Follow these steps to install the printer software:
1. Make sure that your printer is turned off.
2. Insert the printer software CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
Note:
❏ If the language selection window appears, select your country.
❏ If the EPSON Installation Program screen does not appear
automatically, double-click the My Computer icon, right-click
the CD-ROM icon, and click OPEN in the menu that appears.
Then double-click Epsetup.exe.
