Setting up the grill
Attention Risk of damage!
Any screwed connections may gradually loosen dur-
ing use and affect the stability of the grill.
– Before use, always check that the screws are secure. If nec-
essary, tighten all screws again in order to ensure that the
grill has a stable position.
• Before use, place the grill on a level, solid base located out-
doors.
Before grilling
Before first use, rinse off the grill rack with warm scouring water.
Use
Danger Burn Hazard!
The barbecue, the charcoal it contains, and the food
to be grilled become very hot when used such that
any contact may result in severe burns.
– Maintain adequate distance to hot parts as any contact may
result in very severe burns.
– Always wear barbecue and kitchen gloves when grilling.
– Only use long-stemmed grilling tools with heat-resistant han-
dles.
– Do not wear any clothing with baggy arms.
– Do not use ethyl alcohol, gasoline or similar liquids to light or
relight the grill!
– Only use dry firestarters or special liquid firestarters in ac-
cordance with EN 1860-3 to light the grill.
1. Remove the grill rack (9).
2. Place 3–4 firestarters on the grate (8). Please observe the
manufacturer’s instructions on the packaging. Light the
firestarters with a match.
3. Lay no more than 2.6 kg charcoal or briquettes around the
firestarter.
4. The grill must be preheated before use and smoulder for at
least 30 minutes.
As soon as the coals have smouldered through, distribute
them evenly on the grate. Use a suitable, fire-proof tool with
a long, fire-proof handle for this.
5. Hook the grill rack (9) in place using the handles. In the
process, select a position that corresponds to the amount
of heat produced by the charcoal so that your food is not
exposed to excessive or unsufficient heat (see Fig. 10).
6. Only place the food on the grill once the charcoal has a
layer of ash.
7. Use the air flow slider (11) to control the amount of heat
(see Fig. 12).
After grilling/storage
1. Wait until the fuel has burned off and the grill has cooled
off.
2. Store the grill in a dry and dust-free place.
3. Cover the grill with a tarp.
Maintenance and cleaning
Your grill is made of high-quality materials. Please observe the
following notes in order to clean and maintain the surfaces:
Danger Burn Hazard!
Allow the grill to cool off completely before cleaning it.
– Dispose of the ashes once the charcoal has burned
down completely and is out.
Danger Health hazard!
Do not use any dye solvents or thinners to remove
stains. They are hazardous to health and must not
come in contact with food.
Attention Risk of damage!
Do not use any strong or abrasive solvents or scour-
ing pads as they may attack and scratch the surfaces.
• Let the charcoal burn down after grilling. This helps reduce
the amount of cleaning required by burning off excess fat and
residues from grilling.
• Remove the grill rack (9) and clean it thoroughly with scouring
water. Then dry it thoroughly.
• Let any leftover ash fall through the grate (8) into the ash col-
lector (10) and remove the ash collector (10).
• Empty any cold ashes and clean the grill regularly, ideally
every time after you use it.
• Remove any loose deposits on the grill using a wet sponge.
• Use a soft, clean cloth for drying. Do not scratch the surface
by rubbing it in a dry state.
• Clean the inside and outside of the grill with warm soap water.
• Regularly tighten all screws before using the grill to ensure
that the grill has a stable position.
Disposal
The packaging is made of energy-efficient materials
that you can dispose of at local recycling depots.
Do not in any case dispose of the grill in normal house-
hold garbage! Dispose of it at an authorised waste dis-
posal company or the waste disposal facility in your
community. Observe all regulations currently in force. In the
event of doubt, please contact your local waste disposal facility.
