and the line occurs when
landing the fish. If the rod is
pulled too far upwards and
backwards, it will break
(Fig. 1).
This is also the most common
cause of breakages in the tip
area, down to the second
and third ring. These break-
ages are not covered by the
guarantee. This includes all
breakages between the tip
ring and the next fixed ring.
Rod disassembly
Before telescoping the rod,
clean the water and dirt
from it. When pushing the
telescopic components
together, do it in reverse
order, starting at the handle
and working towards the tip.
Never use force. Loosen the
telescopic components from
ach other by twisting, and
then telescope them. Never
bang them together. Now
carefully attach the ring
protection cap.
Reel assembly
All reels are supplied with
an applied bail arm and a
closed knurled thumb screw
(transport lock).
For fishing, loosen the
knurled thumb screw
opposite the housing. Then
open the crank arm and
fasten it on the spool axis
using the knurled thumb
screw.
Conversion of the reel
for left or right handed
people
Remove the knurled thumb
screw at the opposite side of
the crank. Pull the crank out
of the reel and re-insert it
from the other side.
Re-attach the knurled thumb
screw to the crank end.
Never use force to open or
close the crank arm.
This will damage the reel
and the reel housing.
Note:
Reels with an automatic
folding hinged crank will
lock in place automatically
when opening or closing
them.
Setting the reel drake
Stationary reels have either
a head drake or a rear
drake.
If set correctly, the brake
stops the line or the rod
breaking. The drake setting
should be about half the line
force or the rod’s holding
force.
Thread the line through all
the rings and fasten it
behind them.
Hold the rod at a 45º angle
to your upright body.
Reel the line in until it is taut
and the rod bends up to
90º.
Only when in this
position should the bending
of the rod slowly release the
line from the drake. Set the
drake by fastening or
loosening it until this is
achieved (Fig. 2).
Please note:
improper adjustment of
the reel drag can result
in damage to the line,
rod and/or reel.
Checks
Check your rods regularly
for correct positioning of the
connections. Damage to the
connections or incorrect
positioning may cause
breakage. The assembly of
the reel at the reel holder
must also be checked. If it is
too loose, the reel foot may
break or the reel holder be
damaged.
Clean the reel after each use
with clean water.
Use lubricant to maintain the
moving parts, but ensure that
the lubricant or moving parts
do not touch the line, as this
reduces the line’s load
bearing capacity.
Reel attachment at the
rod
Please observe the following
diagrams.
Ensure that the reel moves
freely.
1. Open the reel holder so
that there is enough space
for the reel foot.
2. Insert the front reel foot
inot the fixed reel seat, up to
the stop.
3. To connect the reel to the
rod, screw in the locking nut
of the variable reel seat.
To loosen the rod and the
reel, follow the steps in
reverse order.

Assembly instructions
Assembly instructions:
1. The medium stationary
reel is assembled on the rod.
2. Check the proper fit and
the secure hold of the reel
on the rod.
3. Open the bail arm of the
reel.
4. Pull the line through all
line rings of the rod.
5. Assemble the stopper.
6. Thread the bead.
7. Add a small sliding float
with a load bearing capacity
of max. 20 g.
8. Depending on the load
bearing capacity of the float,
clamp the lead shot or add
round lead or lead olive.
9. If a round lead or a lead
olive are used, another
stopper must be assembled
for the protection of the knot
at the swivel.
10. Fasten the medium
swivel by means of a half,
locked blood knot.
11. Check the knot for right
fit and by a tensile test.
12. If a floating lead is
used, the previously
assembled stopper (see point
9) must now be pushed on
the knot so that it protects
the latter from contact with
the lead.
13. Hang the leader with
hooks of size 2 to 8 in the
karabiner of the swivel.
14. Close the karabiner of
the swivel.
15. The stability of the
leader must under no
circumstances be higher than
that of the main line.
16. Check the knots of the
leader by means of a tensile
test.
17. Close the bail arm of the
reel.
18. Adjust the brake of the
stationary reel.
19. Have the following
accessories with you:
(a) Mesh landing net
(b) Measuring
device
(c) Stunning
equipment
(d) Knife
(e) Unhooker
or
unhooking pliers
The fish species that are
most often caught using this
fishing method are:
carp, tench, perch, trout,
chub and other larger
freshwater fish.
Equipment
All telescopic rods are
provided with ring protection
caps. After use, this cap
must be re-assembled for
transport.
Preparation and
assembly of the rod
Always pull apart telescopic
rods starting at the tip.
Never let the rod
components ‘shoot’ into one
another. When assembling
the rod, always observe the
exact ring alignment. The
components must be pulled
far enough apart that the
rod doesn’t clatter when
swinging. Some telescopic
rods are provided with extra
sliding rings that must be slid
on and fixed in the ring
alignment particularly
carefully.
Warning: Incorrect
assembly may cause
breakage!
Casting
During casting, the hand
grasps the rod at the level of
the reel foot. When doing
so, the reel foot is between
the middle and the ring fin-
ger. The index finger takes
the line from the reel and
holds it while the line is still
held by the bail arm. The
bail arm is then thrown. For
casting, position yourself in
front of the place you are
aiming for and hold the rod
backwards, over the head.
When it has stopped
oscillating, cast the rod
forwards with a strong
motion. If the rod tip points
at the place you are aiming
for, release the line, and the
bait flies towards its
destination.
When casting, always move
smoothly. Casting jerkily
may damage the rod.
After casting, the bail arm
can be closed manually or
by turning the crank once
anticlockwise.
Continue turning the crank to
reel the line in again.
Loosening the hook or
line
While fishing, it is inevitable
that the hook or line will get
stuck at some point. Don’t try
to free it by pulling on the
rod.
Warning: Serious
danger of breakage!
Free the stuck hook/line
using the protected hand.
To increase your chances of
success, try changing
location.

Safety Notes & Legal
Information
Using fishing rods,
especially graphite rods,
during a thunderstorm
increases the risk of being
struck by lightning.
As a rule of thumb, the
longer the rod, the greater
the danger.
When handling the rod,
and particularly when
casting the bait, watch out
for power lines. Touching or
coming close to a power
line increases the risk of an
accident. Wet fishing lines
may conduct electricity!
Before casting, ensure that
you will not injure anyone
who might be behind you.
Ensure that you have
enough space.
Keep hooks and small parts
out of the reach of children
and animals. Danger of
swallowing.
For your own safety, always
wear a fishing hat and eye
protection when fishing.
Avoid chemicals, e.g. sun
cream or insect repellent,
coming into contact with
your fishing equipment, as
they could damage the rod
and the line.
Observe the current fishing
regulations.
Always take all the
necessary documents
(fishing licence, fishing
permit, etc).
Observe the closed seasons,
size limits and other
restrictions regarding
environmental and species
protection.
TIP
The day before you go
fishing, check your fishing
equipment and accessories.
