Activating licenses
Activating on an IPS device (not for SecPath
T5000-S3)
Step1 Connect the devices and log in to the IPS device.
• Use a crossover Ethernet cable to connect the network interface of the PC to the default Ethernet
management interface of the IPS device. By default, the IP address of the default Ethernet
management interface is 192.168.1.1. Configure the IP address of the PC, 192.168.1.2 in this
example. Make sure the devices can reach each other.
• Copy the activation file to the PC.
• Launch an IE browser and enter https://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. The login page shown in
Figure 10 appears. Type the username admin, the password admin, the verify code, and click Login.
To set the display language to English, click English.

Step2 Select System Management > Device Management > License from the left navigation tree to enter the
license configuration page in
Figure 11 .
