The Display Panel
(see illustration Fig.1)
Your Berkshire MR42 telephone display panel provides you with the following information:
• Time and Date (24 hour clock)
• Instructions
• Calls waiting (message, new calls, etc.)
• Duration of calls in minutes/seconds (in progress or last call)
• Identity of received calls (name and/or number)
• Received Calls List; tells you the number of calls received, those that have been answered and
those awaiting reply, etc.
As you use your Berkshire MR42 telephone, the display panel will provide you with instructions.
These instructions are described, as and when they occur, in the following sections of this
manual.
Information on received calls is recorded by your Berkshire MR42 telephone in the Received
Calls List.

Received Calls List
Your Berkshire MR42 telephone records information on up to 25 incoming calls in a Received
Calls List. (If a 26th call arrives, the oldest call in the list is deleted.)
All received calls, answered and unanswered, are recorded in the Received Calls List.
Calls answered on any other telephone connected to the same line as your Berkshire MR42
telephone will be recorded in the Received Calls List as NOT ANSWERED calls.
RECEIVED CALLS LIST ENTRIES
For each entry in the Received Calls List, you can display the name and/or number of a call, how
many times a caller has called and the date and time of the call. If multiple calls are received from
one number, then only the time and date of the last call will be shown.
You can dial directly from any Received Calls List entry (see later in this section).
When there are unanswered calls awaiting your attention in the Received Calls List, the Call List
indicator will flash and the display will show the number of calls as follows:
XX CALLER
XX is the number of different unanswered calls—xx can be 01 up to 25
