If additional precision in squaring is required, consult TRI TOOL Inc. about
alternate methods of squaring.
Fine center the Clamshell as you would a 4-jaw chuck.
Take measurements from the pipe OD to the Housing ID or use a dial
indicator to sweep around the pipes outside diameter.
Adjust the four Clamping Pads so that the measurements at opposing
Clamping Pads are the same.
Tighten the Clamping Pads using a tightening torque of 50 to 75 ft-lbs.
(68 to 102 N-m).
Tighten the Jackscrews against the pipe using a tightening torque of 35 to
50 ft-lbs. (47 to 68 N-m) for added stability.
Air Motor Alternate Positions
GENERAL MACHINING SEQUENCE
There are 4 various orientations available for each Air Motor so that clearance for
the Air Motors may be obtained.
Install the Air Motors into the Drive Sockets and bolt them to the Clamshell.
