4. Now is a good time to clean the lens and housing. If lenses are in bad shape a new set is
recommended.
5. Remove the screw and aluminum back plate from the back of the new LED assembly.
LED assembly standard back back for ‘71-‘72 Chevelle
(attached to the assembly) (packaged separately)
6. Insert the new LED assembly through the front of the tail light housing and align the LED
assembly with the hole where the original bulb and connector were located. Use caution when
feeding the wires through the socket opening to avoid damaging the wire insulation.
7. Feed the wires through the large hole on the appropriate back plate and attach the back plate
onto the back side of the housing. On the plastic ‘71-‘72 Chevelle housing make sure to use
the back plate with the three alignment tabs.
