DAILY CHECKLIST
DAILY CHECKLIST
Use all procedures and parts prescribed by the manufacturer.
Read the V Star Service Manual and the engine manual before operation.
NOTE
:
You must adhere to guidelines established by manufacturer for warranty coverage. In adverse
conditions such as dirt, mud or extreme temperatures, maintenance should be more frequent.
The following items must be checked before each use of the V Star
1. Check engine oil level. Add as needed. DO NOT OVERFILL.
2. Tire pressure should be inspected on a daily basis. Recommended pressure is 5 psi
maximum. Inflation pressures should be checked on a weekly basis when the tires are
cool.
3. Examine unit for damage or anything unusual to normal wear.
4. Inspect electrical system for loose connections or frayed wiring, including battery cables.
Replace any faulty equipment or tighten if loose.
5. Check hardware for loose or missing nuts, bolts, screws, etc., and tighten or replace as
needed.
6. Listen for any noise, such as rattles due to loose hardware, scraping sounds, or unusual
motor noises. Be sensitive to abnormal performance.
7. Inspect blades to make sure they are not bent or loose.
8. Inspect all lubrication areas. Lubricate as necessary and as required by the V Star
Service Manual
9. Assure that all switches are operating normally.
10. Check transaxle oil only if signs of leakage are detected.
11. Check controls for smooth, proper working operation. Lubricate as needed.
12. Wash accumulated dirt daily from motor compartment and under body around the
blades.
