3.3.1
806 and 807 Control Functions
All functions listed below produce corresponding RS-422 commands unless otherwise stated.
3.3.2
Row 1 Controls
3.3.2.1
MIC Switch (EMER / OXY / NORM)
The MIC switch is a locking, three-position toggle switch that is used to select the mic
mode.
NORM: Connects NORM MIC input and Push-To-Talk (PTT) inputs to the selected mic
output. Provides discrete output NORM SW.
OXY: Connects OXY MIC and PTT inputs to the selected MIC output. Turns ON the
following functions: INPH Hot, INPH to SPKR, and SPKR SW. Also provides
discrete output OXY MIC mode interconnect.
EMER: Performs the same function as the OXY position, but also provides a connection
between discrete input SPKR input and discrete output SPKR output.
Aural warnings are directly connected to headphones.
3.3.2.2
Transmit Select and Volume Rotary Switch (XMIT and VOL)
The XMIT/VOL switch is a dual concentric control.
The larger, outer knob (XMIT) is a four-position rotary switch that is used to select the
required transmit output (1, 2, HF or PA) and the AUTO-COMM channel (see section
3.3.3.1).
When PTT is activated, the mic input is connected to the selected output. When
transmitting to radios, the PTT-Mute function is turned on. When transmitting to PA, the
PA sidetone function is turned on.
The smaller, inner knob (VOL) is a rotary potentiometer that is used as a master volume
control for all radios.
3.3.2.3
VOX Threshold (T) and Sidetone VOL (S) Adjust Pots
The VOX Threshold (T) adjust trimpot controls the voice activated switch (VOX) threshold
level. Rotating the potentiometer clockwise (cw) increases the threshold level.
The Sidetone VOL (S) adjust trimpot is used to adjust the sidetone volume.
Note: These controls are available on row 4 of the 807.
